Ghana is a country of people with a smile on their face, hospitality, religion, and tolerance. A country that makes you feel immediately welcome, with a famous culture and glorious past, and an oasis of peace in a turbulent continent. These characteristics are a direct result of its population. Ghanaians are warm, friendly, open, always in for a good party and love to chitchat. Every stranger soon feels at home. 

On this page, you can find all sorts of information about Ghana. We have divided the information into three themes. The first section, general information describes the country in terms of climate, population and language. The second section gives a short history of the country. The section Tamale provides all the information about Tamale, where NorGhaVo has its base and where most volunteers will come to work. Finally, under travel info, you can find practical tips about tourist hot spots and how to prepare for a trip through Ghana.
