In December 2011 we had already reported that the boxes with new material for the CADC arrived in Tamale. Around Christmas, they have been brought to Navrongo and handed over to the CADC-team. They are very happy with it! Old, beyond repair computers have been replaced. Finally, there are new mousepads and printer toners (very difficult to obtain in Northern Ghana). Also a real laminator has come along to be able to produce winkle- and dust-free course certificates. A nice touch was that all items were packed for protection in T-shirts (old and new) and clothes that still can be used.

It has been our pleasure to notify you all that the long awaited parcels shipped to Ghana has arrived and brought to Tamale for further distribution to agencies. We (NORGHAVOCADC) have taken delivery of our parcel today 1st December 2011.
As we have monitored the transit and closely discussed with father Lazarus, he informed me about the arrival and authorized me to receive for the team. This was not complicated but easy and smart.
The parcel shall be transported to Navrongo as soon as Peter arrived in Tamale, for this reason we prefer to keep the content closed whiles wait for his safe presence as a team member and together we fix the computers jointly.

The current computers in the CADC are more than 7 years old of which 4 years being present in the dusty and hot Navrongo. After several repair actions the end is coming soon. Time for replacement! In the Netherlands we started looking for computers that are not affected by the climate and found the Neo-fanless industrial PCs. They are also small, so easy to ship. This we got sponsored, together with some laptops, a projector, printer, TFT screens, mice and keyboards. Packed in crates they are shipped in late September by DPA network, to Tamale in northern Ghana. From there it is around 180km to Navrongo, where we expect arrival in December.
